Description
Cu Lao Cham lies off the coast of Hoi An — a cluster of eight islands recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve, with water clean enough to sustain some of the most intact coral reef systems on Vietnam's central coast. The island's interior holds its own quiet history: Champa's Wells, in daily use for over 200 years; Hai Tang Pagoda, the oldest temple on the island; and a working seafood market where the catch arrives early and sells fast.
The snorkeling zone at Ong Beach puts you directly above coral formations that cannot be replicated in more trafficked waters further south. Lunch is served at a restaurant on the island — fresh seafood caught that morning. The tour runs by speedboat from Da Nang or Hoi An, with safety equipment and life jackets provided throughout.
