Description
Discover Saigon culture and history in bustling Ho Chi Minh City, the largest trade center in Vietnam. Visit Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral, the War Remnants Museum, the Central Post Office, and more.
Itinerary
Be picked up at your hotel. We’ll start things off with a visit to the Central Post Office. Famed for its French-colonial design, this majestic building was designed by Gustav Eiffel (of Eiffel Tower fame), and offers a glimpse of how Ho Chi Minh City looked a century or so ago. Close by, you’ll find the beautiful Notre-Dame Cathedral – the only South-East Asian church to be rated amongst the world’s top 20!
The Saigon tour continues to the Independence or Reunification Palace, used by French Governor-Generals up until 1954, and the home of South Vietnam’s President until the end of the American War in 1975. A strategic centre throughout many historical conflicts, today you’ll find the beautiful grounds and building to be an oasis of calm and intrigue.
Continuing the history theme, we’ll move on to visit the War Remnants Museum. Covering both the French and American conflicts, you’ll find countless images, artifacts, displays, and first-person accounts throughout its floors. We’ll carry on to the fabulous Jade Pagoda, one of the most spectacular in the whole of Vietnam.
To end your half-day HCMC City Tour, we’ll take in the famous Ben Thanh Market. Selling food, clothes, souvenirs, and pretty much anything else you can think of, the market is one of the biggest in the city and a great place to people-watch, bargain, and experience Saigonese daily life first-hand!
